welcome to Cuteness & Chaos – a blog inspired by and documenting my family life, our adventures and my treasured role as mama of two small children.
Since having my second child this has become my daily mantra. Both my children often display immense levels of cuteness, but in equal measure they create an unearthly amount of chaos. In my career I have worked as a teacher at inner-city schools, managed a £million publicly funded project, and coordinated events for hundreds of professionals. None of these challenging roles have even come close to the dedication, intensity and reward of parenting.
I am mama to Jasper and Jules, and wife to Neil. We live in Greater London / Essex with our fluffy cat, Georgia. I am currently on maternity leave from my education and outreach role at a national heritage charity based in London.
I was born in South Africa in the 1980s. My childhood was filled with sunshine and family adventures to beautiful places, superb schooling and the sanctuary of living in a rural community. After completing my studies at a local university I craved a new start, travel and city life. So, at the age of 22, I travelled to London with a rucksack full of dreams.
Over a decade later I am settled in the UK with dual citizenship and a family of my own. It is important to me that Jasper and Jules learn about and experience their South African heritage, and so we enjoy trips back to spend time with my family.
This year Neil and I celebrate our sixth wedding anniversary, we enjoy our first year with baby Jules, Jasper turns four and starts school in September, and we move house. After many years of toying with the idea of starting a blog, here it is to set some of my creativity free. I hope you enjoy reading my posts – please get in touch and follow us on Instagram and Facebook.
